Bookable appointments are available for every primary care site with a health improvement advisor to visit in person or virtually. They will be able to distribute specialist knowledge, raise awareness and promote local and national initiatives to improve wellbeing within your teams.

Career Conversations have been set up to help all existing staff working within primary care in Derby and Derbyshire who might be thinking about their career.
Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training is the national standard for improving understanding of learning disability and autism across health and social care. Training is currently bookable through NCORE and must be booked individually. Funding beyond March 2026 is not guaranteed so we strongly encourage individuals to book on to sessions.
GP Pause is a novel programme supporting GPs and practice teams when a GP takes a period of planned/unplanned extended leave but are still on the GMC GP register and England Medical Performer’s list. GP Pause provides guidance and resources for GPs and practices for periods of leave lasting 2 weeks or more to ensure both parties feel supported in planning ‘pauses’ in careers, and in planning a smooth transition when returning to work.

This new programme aims to bring the network of Social Prescribers (SPs) across Derbyshire together creating time and space to connect, learn, and celebrate the impact their vital work has on patients and communities.
All primary care staff are expected to complete a minimum level of ensure they can carry out their role safely and effectively. There is an expectation training is updated and refreshed at appropriate intervals.
