On Wednesday 14th May we held our second Derbyshire General Practice Long Service Awards to recognise and celebrate the incredible dedication of our colleagues across Derbyshire General Practice.
The event was jointly funded by The Hub Plus and the GP Provider Board. The sun shone at the beautiful Horsley Lodge venue. The yellow flowered centrepieces created by the amazing Lauren, added a joyful touch, and the atmosphere was warm, both in weather and spirit.
Our recipients were recognised for their service from 25 to 45 years, a truly remarkable achievement. They received a badge and certificate as a token of our deep appreciation. Our special guests included the Mayor of Derby, the Medical Director of the Integrated Care Board (ICB), Dr Chris Weiner and Councillor Alison Martin.
The venue was filled with smiles, gratitude, and a few emotional moments—especially during the speech of The Hub Plus Medical Director, Dr Susie Bayley. We hope all our guests enjoyed a relaxed afternoon, surrounded by a sense of community and shared pride.
We extend our deepest thanks to all our recipients and their guests who joined us. We definitely see you, hear you, and are truly grateful for you. Your contributions have shaped Derbyshire General Practice, and your commitment continues to inspire us all.
On December 4th, 2024, colleagues across general practice came together to celebrate some truly amazing commitments to the NHS at our first Long Service Awards Celebration Event at the Farmhouse in Mackworth, Derby. The venue was beautifully decorated with twinkly lights and Christmas trees, creating a warm and festive atmosphere that perfectly captured the spirit of both the festive season and the occasion.
The event recognized 55 dedicated individuals, serving between 25 to over 50 years in the NHS. Our recipients were from a variety of roles and backgrounds, travelling across our county to attend.
The recipients were honoured for their selfless service, dedication, and commitment to the NHS with a small presentation ceremony where each recipient was individually called forward to receive a certificate and badge, followed by the obligatory photo! The ceremony said ‘thank you’ and recognised each persons’ contribution. The event show cased the care and joy exemplified by our general practice teams. Moving from laughter to tears when Dr Susie Bayley, Medical Director of The Hub Plus gave her address.
We would particularly like to highlight 50+ year service recipient, Diane. She received a standing ovation for her 53+ years of service. It was a heartfelt moment that highlighted just how much her hard work and dedication mean to all of us.
After the ceremony, we enjoyed afternoon tea with friends and colleagues and special guests. Who doesn’t love a Victoria sponge, lemon drizzle and scones? Yum! It was a wonderful time to share stories and even some photos of our recipients at the beginning of their careers. There was much laughter, more photos, and an appreciation from all for the incredible commitment that each recipient had shown.
We cannot thank our recipients enough for their unwavering dedication to Derbyshire General Practice. Their hard work has made an enormous difference in the lives of so many, and we are truly grateful for everything they have done and continue to do.
