HUB+ Project Quality Improvement Fellowship

The Hub Plus, Derbyshire is the home for training, education and support offers for Derbyshire primary care staff. Our primary purpose is the provision of training, education, development, retention and the complete ‘wrap-around’ support required throughout a career in primary care whether that is clinical, non-clinical, management or leadership.

We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Project QI Support Fellow with a passion for quality improvement to support our colleagues working on HUB+ projects across Derbyshire. We are looking for a motivated, self-directed individual to work with our small dynamic team to support Fellows to identify areas of quality improvement, follow QI processes and highlight outcomes to colleagues across Derbyshire general practice.


The Role

The Hub Plus is seeking a Clinical Lead with good understanding of quality improvement processes and with a passion for delivering innovative projects. You will work closely with our N2P and Retention programme leads, Fellows and PCN & practice leadership groups.

The time commitment for this role is 4 hours per week. This role can be flexible around other commitments but must include 4th Wednesday afternoon of the month (which is when N2P Education sessions occur).

The successful candidate will help coordinate, create and drive forwards our project delivery. Our Hub Plus team includes Profession-specific leads, Project Coordinators, Administrators and Educators. We have robust communication channels, a new and improved website and a learning management system to host webinars / learning packages.

Candidates must be a GP on the performers list working within general practice in Derbyshire. We believe this is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate of the Derbyshire N2P scheme. Responsibilities

Working with The Hub Plus team, the successful candidate will have several key responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Working with the GP Retention and N2P Team to highlight the project delivery ask of our fellowships.
  • Educate Fellows about QI processes and support and troubleshoot QI concerns.
  • Support Fellows to work with their practices / PCNs to identify areas of project delivery.
  • Support the evaluation of project impact and support the communication and presentation of project to wider general practice.
  • Lead Action Learning Sets to empower fellows to support one another.
  • Always ensuring a continuous cycle of quality improvement.
  • Identify areas of educational need related to QI and work with the HUB+ in delivering sessions to address this need.
  • Champion The Hub Plus offers in external educational fora including local and regional meetings where appropriate.
  • Identify any potential opportunities to expand and improve delivery and work with The Hub Plus team on creating business cases.
  • Work with N2P Lead and general practice Retention Project Coordinator reporting key achievements and escalating any risks.
  • Ensure that Derbyshire funding is spent wisely by identifying opportunities to consolidating offers.

The Offer

  • Hours: 4 hours weekly (to include 4th Wednesday of each month)
  • Location: Hybrid – Base site RTC, RTC Business Park, London Road, Derby
  • Contract type: Fixed Term 12months with extension subject to funding, starting ASAP.
  • Pay: Paid on a self-employed basis at a for 1 session per week of £10k per session dependent on experience (please note this role does not include NHS pension/NI contributions).
