The Hub+ General Practice Clinical Educational Lead

The Hub+, Derbyshire is the home for training, education and support offers for Derbyshire primary care staff. Our primary purpose is the provision of training, education, development, retention and the complete ‘wrap-around’ support required throughout a career in primary care whether that is clinical, non-clinical, management or leadership.

Due to an expansion of our training offer we have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Clinical Education Lead for The Hub+. We are looking for a motivated, self-directed individual to work with our small dynamic team to drive our educational offers, develop new programmes and seize the opportunity to expand our service delivery.  Supported by our experienced team, the successful candidate will help ensure our quality training and education offers continue to meet the needs of Derbyshire General Practice.

The Role

The Hub+ is seeking a Clinical Lead with good understanding of the training needs of all clinicians working across general practice to lead on our Clinical Educational Activities. The time commitment for this role is 2 sessions per month. This role can be flexible around other commitments, but it would be advantageous if some of the time commitment included Monday or Tuesday (which are our core team days) and will include delivery of teaching events in the evenings.

The successful candidate will help coordinate, create and drive forwards our education offers to support colleagues across the county. Our Hub + team includes Profession-specific leads, Project Coordinators, Administrators and Educators. We have robust communication channels, a new and improved website and a learning management system to host webinars / learning packages.

We are very much looking for someone with passion, drive and experience to lead on this role with the ability to be self-motivated and prioritise the development of others.

Candidates must be a clinician on the appropriate professional register working within general practice in Derbyshire. Responsibilities

Working with The Hub+ team, the successful candidate will have several key responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Liaising with clinicians across the County to design and deliver a comprehensive multi-professional educational programme to include topics both clinical and non-clinical that colleagues need to thrive.
  • Evaluate training need analysis to inform The Hub+ offers addressing any gaps and revising offers when necessary.
  • Always ensuring a continuous cycle of quality improvement.
  • Chair and where appropriate deliver educational sessions.
  • Work with, and grow, our bank of Educators.
  • Work with our bank of GP Fellows to integrate their project areas with educational offers.
  • Champion The Hub+ offers in external educational fora including local and regional meetings where appropriate.
  • Identify any potential opportunities to expand and improve delivery and work with The Hub+ team on creating business cases.
  • With support from The Hub+ Medical Director; creation and developing the Educational Strategy.
  • Work with Education Project Coordinator to support on the quarterly education meeting.
  • Ensure that Derbyshire funding is spent wisely by identifying opportunities to consolidating offers.

The Offer

Hours: 2 sessions / 8 hours 20mins per month (ideally to include a Monday and/or Tuesday)

Location: Hybrid – Base site RTC, RTC Business Park, London Road, Derby

Contract type: 12-month self employed contractor

Pay:  Rate in alignment of your current salary to a maximum of £10,000 per session.
