Aim:

The ICB Pharmacy Team is offering all PCN and Practice staff the opportunity to join us virtually for our next wave of System Induction Training. 

This is an ideal opportunity for all staff members, new or established working in general practice to get an overview of the resources and prescribing information we continue to provide.

The aim of induction training is to support all staff members to use the information available to them to ensure safe, appropriate prescribing for the population of Derby and Derbyshire.

The ICB plan to run one MS Teams session per month, on either a Wednesday or Thursday, on the first or second week of the month to maximise accessibility. The sessions will run from 1pm and will last approximately 55 minutes.

The ICB are open to your suggestions regarding which day / week of the month you would find it most convenient for staff to join us. (ddicb.pharmacy@nhs.net)​

During the sessions we suggest that staff members have access to a computer to mirror the navigation that will be demonstrated, and we absolutely encourage staff to participate by asking questions to get the best from the session. It will also be a chance for staff to meet some of the members of the ICB Pharmacy Team.

The first part of the session will provide an overview of resources - suitable for all staff members, with the second part of the session providing more in-depth clinical information.

After this session attendees will have a greater understanding of the following: 

• Introduction to the ICB Pharmacy Team, our role and what we do
• Clinical System settings and formulary to help you get the best out of the clinical system
• Queries and advice
• Introduction to our Medicines Management website resources
