Conflict in general practice can have a substantial impact—not only on patients but also on the wellbeing of individual staff members. This LMC-supported training session is designed to help managers and leaders understand the causes of conflict in primary care settings and develop effective strategies to address and reduce it.
This session is suitable for:
Practice Managers & Leadership
After this session attendees will have a greater understanding of the following:
• Understand HOW and WHY conflict can occur in general practice and the impact it has on YOU
• Understand how WE might be able to decrease incidents
• Learn some techniques to support YOU to be able to manage, should conflict arise
• Identify when to escalate further / seek support
• Understand the importance of self-care and the TEAM
• Identify how we can impact incidents and techniques to help you, and your team manage should any incidents happen
• Supported by the LMC, understand a practical approach to managing escalating behaviours
• Identify barriers to consistency in conflict resolution management and how to address these
• Become aware of support available for both you and your team
