Aim:  

Clinicians will be able to describe the cardiopulmonary risks associated with COPD, recognise the importance of early optimisation, and identify timely, evidence-based interventions to help prevent or slow disease progression and improve long-term patient outcomes.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:

  •  Understand the cardiopulmonary risks associated with COPD and the impact on patient outcomes 
  •  Recognise the significance of COPD exacerbations and their role in disease progression 
  •  Identify the benefits of earlier optimisation and proactive management for patients with COPD 
  •  Apply current treatment guidelines to support effective and timely clinical decision-making 
  •  Reflect on and adapt their approach to how COPD is viewed and managed within Primary Care
