Speaker Bio:
Dr Gail Allsopp- MBChB MRCS FRCGP MSc
Gail is the Chief Medical Advisor for the Department for Work and pensions (DWP). Having held a portfolio career covering academia at the University of Nottingham, clinical policy at the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) and in medical leadership including roles such as the Chief Medical Officer for the National institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) she moved to DWP in 2023
Gail leads the DWP clinical policy team, working closely with colleagues in the Department of Health and Social Care through the Joint Work and Health Unit.
Alongside her clinical policy work Gail has completed NIHR funded research on Long Covid, is a trustee for Sinfonia Viva, an orchestra based in the East Midlands where she focusses on creative health and is an advisor for Over the wall Charity.
