Trainer Infomation
Dr Naveen Hosangadi Jayadev
GP Partner and TPD Chesterfield & Derbyshire Dales GPSTP, Chesterfield & Derbyshire Dales GPSTP
DDICB systems lead for MSK, Rheumatology, Pain and Obesity.
Dr. Naveen Hosangadi-Jayadev is a GP partner and Training Programme Director at Chesterfield and Derbyshire Dales GPSTP, with over ten years of experience in medical education. He brings an extensive background in sports and musculoskeletal (MSK) medicine to primary care, and serves as DDICB systems lead for MSK, Rheumatology, Pain and Obesity.
A particular focus of his work is tackling health inequality in MSK and the chronic conditions that cluster around it, including mental health, diabetes and obesity. He is keen to see primary care and allied health colleagues work together to close gaps in access and outcomes for these long-term conditions, recognising how closely MSK health, metabolic disease and mental wellbeing are intertwined.
Alongside his clinical and systems work, Dr. Hosangadi-Jayadev supports overseas medical graduates transitioning into GP training. He draws on sports psychology techniques to help GP registrars manage exam stress and perform at their best in the AKT and SCA. He also works with the East Midlands deanery AKT SLP to help close the RCGP AKT differential attainment gap, reflecting a wider commitment to equity that runs through both his educational and clinical work.
